What is Arabian Trade Portal?

A platform for business connections

Arabian Trade Portal, or ATP, is a B2B marketplace for the GCC and the Arab world. It helps buyers discover suppliers, explore product listings and start business conversations. Suppliers can present their businesses and respond to relevant purchasing requirements through the portal.

The catalogue covers 23 sectors and more than 150 sub-categories. Suppliers are listed by country across all 22 Arab League countries, including the six GCC countries. These are overlapping geographic groups, not 28 separate countries. A country listing helps discovery; it does not establish a product's manufacturing origin.

ATP brings the discovery and discussion stages into one place. It is useful when a buyer has a defined requirement, when a supplier wants to explain its capabilities, or when both sides need a record of quotations and negotiations.

What the portal does

Every supplier and buyer account is reviewed and approved by the portal team before full access. Registration starts at Join, where applicants choose Buyer or Supplier. Google sign-in is available for buyers, but account approval still applies.

Buyers can browse products and send an enquiry from a product page. They can also post a Buying Request, often called a request for quotation or RFQ. After admin approval, the request is sent to suppliers in its matching sector and sub-sector. Those suppliers reply with quotations inside the portal.

All messages go through ATP. Email addresses and phone numbers are hidden. Keep questions, specifications and commercial updates in the portal conversation so both sides can refer to the same information.

What the portal does not do

ATP is a platform only. It does not buy, sell, stock, deliver or handle payments between users. A product page is a supplier's offer of information, not stock owned by ATP.

The buyer and supplier agree directly on:

  • Product specifications, quantity and price.
  • Payment method, currency and payment timing.
  • Delivery arrangements, responsibilities and expected dates.
  • Inspection, acceptance, warranties and returns, where applicable.

Do not assume that an account's approval means a transaction is guaranteed. Review the counterparty and the actual order before making a commitment. Shipping, customs and product requirements should be checked with the relevant service providers or authorities.

Membership and the founding offer

ATP's only income is an annual subscription for buyers and suppliers. It does not charge commission on trade. The first 100 approved suppliers list free under the founding offer.

Subscription prices, billing arrangements, renewal rules and the duration or detailed scope of the founding offer are [TO CONFIRM]. Do not interpret free listing as a promise that every service, future year or optional feature is included.

Before committing to membership, read the information presented at registration and ask for clarification about any unresolved subscription condition. The founding offer depends on approval, not simply being among the first people to begin a form.

How a typical opportunity develops

A buyer identifies a product or creates a clear buying request. A supplier asks any necessary questions, checks its capability and sends a quotation. The parties compare specifications, discuss commercial terms and record their agreement.

Deals are tracked through New, Replied, Quotation Sent, Negotiating, Deal Agreed and Closed. These stages help organise discussions. They do not themselves prove that money was transferred, goods were inspected or an order was delivered.

For example, a packaging buyer might request a specified carton size and quantity. Suppliers can quote against the same requirement, while the buyer checks material quality, lead time and delivery terms. Any eventual purchase remains a direct agreement between those businesses.

Choose a useful first action

A supplier should prepare a clear business profile and a small number of accurate listings. A buyer should start with one well-defined purchasing requirement. Both should keep account information current and separate confirmed facts from estimates.

Next step: Choose Buyer or Supplier and apply for an account.
